The memories of the day - 4 April 2015

Five years on and we decided to say to each other "I do". We chose a stunning place for it called Bookrock at the top of a 250 meter high cliff overlooking The South Island - simply beautiful. The day of our wedding could not be more perfect with the typical strong Wellington wind and a dramatic overcast sky. Could we ask for more? I guess, if only our whole family was here and friends who could not make it to the wedding. We were thinking of you all.

Po pięciu latach zdecydowaliśmy się powiedzieć do siebie "tak". Wybraliśmy na to wspaniałe miejsce zwany Bookrock na szczycie 250 metrowego klifu z widokiem na Wyspe Południowa - po prostu piękne. Dzień naszego ślubu nie mogl być bardziej idealny z typowym silnym Wellingtonskim wietem i dramatycznie zachmurzonym niebie. Czego chciec więcej? Oczywiscie  jeśli tylko nasza cała rodzina była tutaj i przyjaciele, którzy nie mogli przybyć na ślubu. Myślimy o was wszystkich.

Despite the strong winds our guests enjoyed the stunning views, some were even brave enough to go outside :). 

Pomimo silnych wiatrów nasi goście byli bardzo zadowoleni z wspaniałych widoków, niektóre były nawet na tyle odważny, aby wyjść na zewnątrz :).

It was an interesting journey through town, strange people were waving and cheering; it made the day even more special...

To była ciekawa podróż przez miasto, nieznajomi przechodnie machali nami; to się jeszcze bardziej przyczinilo do specialnego dnia ...

It was time to begin. Some say it can be quite intense and even stressful, but this wasn't what we felt. Instead it felt normal, the right thing to do...
Unfortunately, due to the strong wind there was no chance to have the ceremony on the lawn but this didn't bother us too much.

Nadszedł czas, aby rozpocząć. Niektórzy mówią, że jest to bardzo intensywne, a nawet stresujące, ale to nie było to, co czuliśmy. Przeciwnie, czuliśmy się zupelnie normalnie...
Niestety, ze względu na silny wiatr nie było szans, aby ceremonia odbyla się na trawniku, ale to nam za bardzo nie przeszkadzalo.

To zdjęcie sprawia, że wszystko wygląda tak łatwo ... uwierzcie mi, zmagał się bardzo aby go na place wlozyc :)

However, here it was easy :)          Duzo latwiej tutaj :)

It feels like the cake needs a bit of explanation.... As many of you know we love to play board games, a lot. These two full of sugar figures are a bigger version of meeples i.e. tokens in some board games, yes a bit geeky, but we are :)

Ciasto chyba wymaga trochę wyjaśnień .... Jak wielu z was wie, my uwielbiają grać w gry planszowe, i to dużo. Te dwa pełne cukru ludziki są większe wersja pionkow do gry, tak nieco dziwacznie, ale co tam :)

Just in case you wondered, I couldn't even touch the ball with the golf club

W przypadku, gdy ktos się zastanawiał, nie mogłem nawet dotknąć piłki kijkiem golfowym

We only realised it recently by looking at the photo on the right that we never tried these....

Mamy tylko zrozumiał sie niedawno, patrząc na zdjęcie po prawej stronie, że nigdy nie mielismy okazji tego spróbowac ....

Honestly, it was really windy... but this didn't stop anyone 

Szczerze mówiąc, to było naprawdę wietrznie ... ale to nie powstrzymało nikogo

Not much luck playing golf nor shooting clay birds, but it was fun anyway...

Nie za dużo szczęścia grając w golfa, ani strzelając w gliniane ptaszki, ale i tak była zabawa...

It wouldn't be a wedding without formal photos :)

Byliśmy bardzo zadowoleni jak zobaczylismy tak wiele uśmiechniętych twarzy na prawie wszystkich zdjęciach ....

This was an amazing day! To our huge surprise we even managed to see a lunar eclipse! Unfortunately no photos of it, just wonderful memories.

To był niesamowity dzień! Ku naszemu zaskoczeniu, nawet udało nam się zobaczyć zaćmienie Księżyca! Niestety nie mamy zdjęcia, tylko wspaniałe wspomnienia.

FACTS ABOUT MR AND MRS STOCKS

• They studied at the same university, in the same department, at the same time (but different years), but didn't know each other
• When they first met he thought she was French
• He asked if he could kiss her... she said no!
• On their first date he cooked her a delicious lasagne, as they say in Poland “through the stomach to the heart”
• They grew up 1,834km apart, both in coal mining towns
• Their first trip together was to Val-d'Isere in France where he taught her how to ski, with success
• Altogether together they have 5 siblings, he has zero.
• Half of their first year of dating they spent approx. 9,600km apart
• Together they travel to 27 countries and lived in 5
• They are boards game geeks, they own 60 of them (and counting)

• Kiedy po raz pierwszy się spotkałem, on myslal że one jest francuska
